I'm just posting here so it looks like I contribute to the Internet, but really, I leech off the internet except for the websites that I make, though I think that is more of a contribution than writing dribble in here. It is more fulfilling to provide others with a place to write their dribble than to write my own dribble.
Back to work..

The first of hopefully various (photo) blog entries.
This is a cake by Madeline that I photographed earlier.
Posted in the (newly created) blog section. We'll see how that works out.

New Plant Photography

Website updates are finished, many new photos uploaded.

Sections updated are:
Portraits
Night
People
Plants & Flowers
Nature & Plants
Animals
Structures
Other
Structures
and it goes on, mostly everything has been added too.

Some of the changes to the website (besides new theme) are pages (there are now pages of photos rather than each album being listed as a whole (12 image to a page currently but it will be modifiable soon).
Blog has been added (obviously).
The way the site physically works is all new (though no one else will notice that).
Someday soon I'll be adding a "blog" section for photos added here but not actually posted in an album.
I also still need to repair some issues that are had in Internet Explorer with the Slideshow buttons and their alignment to eachother. This will be done soon I hope.

Website upgrades
[info]laktose2232
As far as I know, I've finished completely recreating my website, new design & all new programming (though no one besides me will notice). Still to come (I hope) are new images & categories + someday an administration module for myself. For now this is good though.

Frozen Pine Trees

On the 14th we had an ice storm, which is something I've always wanted to have some time to photograph. I spent a good three hours just walking around photographing different frozen plants, but what I spent the most time with were these frozen pine trees.
Using a Canon Speedlite and lighting from below the trees a few feet away I came out with these.

Photoshopped portrait
[info]laktose2232
Recently I did a portrait session & one of the shots was sort of a "blank slate" for use later. The idea was to create sort of an alien-like or surreal feeling from it. Other than that I really had no plan.
Now, I'm looking for some feedback, ideas, anything really.
I think it may be a bit over-done & too photoshopped, but it's not that extreme...

Sure, it was horribly polluting, but I guess it had to be done. Fuck television...

Well here's some photos from my journey around Six Mile Creek the other day when it was super nice out..
Again, with the first few, I had some exposure issues.. I fixed these photos up a lot when I exported them from raw files, but I don't usually bother to fix the jpeg's because well, it's just not worth it for the low quality photos to spend that much time on them.. So here they are, in their mostly "unfixed" format. The first few with the deer are really the only ones that has problems anyways...

Here they are... )

To the Grand Canyon
[info]laktose2232
Well, as I said, heres some photos from earlier today
I fucked up the first few (forgot to turn down the exposure on the camera as I had set it up real high last night to figure out wtf was going on with things).. So the first few are a bit screwy, sucked but oh well...

Here they are... )

Whohoo! KDE 3.4 came out, and thac (God thank him) made some packages of it (Lazyass Mandrake people), so now I have mofockin transparencies on my desktop! It rules!

Mmmm... Isn't even slow! I've waited many months for this, and it's well worth it.
Man.. I love open source!
